As with most literary series, the first book of the Mercy Thompson stories is the best. I think it's due to the fact that the author repeats quite a lot of information in the second, third, and fourth books, just in case you happen to be reading them individually, without having read the previous book. Unfortunately, this often makes for a tedious read, as you find yourself skimming through entire paragraphs, just to get to a part that you haven't already read in a previous book. Still, Mercy Thompson is a great modern day protagonist. She's independent, fiercely loyal, and can take care of herself and her merry band of werewolf, fae, and vampire friends. Despite the repetition, well worth reading and highly enjoyable.Product details

The Mercy Thompson Collection Books 15 A Mercy Thompson Novel eBook Patricia Briggs Reviews
I know I'm kinda embarassed about reading this adventure, love, sci-fi/fantasy "stuff" - but she is really a good writer and the visual description are great. I have hearing loss so TV is not a priority because close captions just don't cut it - but nevertheless I get hooked on "series" and this is what this is about. If it was on TV, it would be a hit series. I will continue to spend $$ for more of her writing and in particular her lead character Mercy Thompson. I'm grateful she seeks out and uses help in the technical descriptions and it is not all imagination or fiction. She seeks to entertain and that she hits right on the mark.
I enjoy Mercy and the rest of the characters. I never know what to expect. I am happy for Samuel.
I love the Mercedes Thompson series. Patricia Briggs brings a new and exciting view to this genre. The books are fun to read and we'll written. I love her spin-off Alpha and Omega series as well. Always excited for the next book to come out.
I just really freakin' love Patricia Briggs. Her characters grow, the relationships are plausible, and she writes for the story, not the "romance." Plus, her rendition of fantastical creatures is closer to the old stories, which is refreshing in the paranormal mordern fiction realm right now. I super love her and am working on owning everything she writes.
Enjoyable series of books, they draw on several different traditions from skin walkers to Germanic faeries.
Patricia Briggs brings her characters to life, I find her books fascinating she always has such a great plot line she keeps you enthralled to the very last word! I would highly recommend all of Patricia Briggs books she is my absolute favourite author!
I truely love these books. I like Patricia Briggs writing style. Her books are easy reading, but are still very descriptive. I very much agree and like her take on the werewolves and vampires. Her characters are detailed and believable. Which says a lot considering several are werewolves. The main character Mercy is a person anyone could identify with. A rough child hood and feeling like she doesn't truly belong anywhere. Because of this she is strong and independant. She made her own place to belong. She has a sneaky sense of humor and I found myself laughing out loud. All the books keep a steady/ fast pace. No boring parts. Her other series Alpha and Omega is just as good and related to the Mercy books. Other series are just as good too. I would recommend these for ages 14 and up.
